Job summary

ROBERTSON RECRUITMENT SERVICES LIMITED is seeking an experienced CNC Miller & Programmer in Nottingham to join a growing manufacturing team. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines on PM shifts, producing precision components to tight tolerances.

Ideal candidates will have CAD/CAM programming experience, proven milling experience and a strong eye for detail. The position offers a 3-day weekend with Fridays off and no weekend work unless overtime is requested.

Programming experience is essential to be successful for this role; it will be part of the interview.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller & Programmer to join our well-established client, who are rapidly growing due to much success.

This opportunity is working PM Shifts:

• 4pm - 2pm Monday - Wednesday
• 4pm - 1pm Thursdays
• Fridays Off (3 day weekend)

The Role:

This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines to produce high-quality precision-engineered components safely, efficiently and accurately.

Programming experience is essential for this role.

What You'll Be Doing :

• Create, edit and optimise CNC milling programmes
• Produce first-off components to engineering drawing specifications
• Modify and improve existing programmes to reduce cycle times and improve efficiency
• Maintain programme documentation and backups

Setting & Operating:

• Set and operate CNC milling machines
• Select appropriate tooling and fixtures
• Manufacture one-off and batch components to tight tolerances
• Carry out tool changes, offsets and machine adjustments

Essential Experience Needed:

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller
• CAD/CAM Programming experience is essential
• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude

Desirable Experience:

• Experience with Hurco, Haas, Mazak or Fanuc controls.
• Experience operating Haas and Matsuura machinery.
• Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
