Job summary

Jewson in Swansea is seeking a Mill Machinist to join our Beaufort Rd branch. No prior experience is required as full training will be given, and the role runs Monday–Friday 7:30–17:00 with every other Saturday 07:30–11:30.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor timber-processing machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Cut, plane, mould and machine timber to customer specifications.
  • Set up machinery and make adjustments to achieve accurate dimensions and profiles.
  • Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.
  • Identify and report machinery faults, defects or maintenance requirements.
  • Carry out routine cleaning, maintenance and safety checks of machinery.
  • Safely handle, stack and move timber and finished products.
  • Follow all Health & Safety, environmental and site procedures.
  • Complete production records, paperwork and relevant documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Work closely with colleagues to meet production targets and customer deadlines.
  • Support the wider mill team with day-to-day operations as required.

Experience isn't essential for this role as full training will be given.
