Job summary

Lely Atlantic Ltd. (UK & IRL) is seeking a hands-on Service Engineer to support maintenance and servicing of Lely Astronaut automated milking systems.

The role involves field-based work, on-site visits and extensive travel across the Yeovil region, with an emphasis on problem solving and customer support. The successful candidate will have a relevant engineering qualification, be computer literate, able to work on-call, and hold a UK driving licence with up to six points.

Lely is known for driving innovation in livestock farming, and our Lely Center is expanding to meet rising demand for our advanced feed and barn solutions—including the latest in automated cleaning, feeding, and animal care systems.

We are looking for a Service Engineer to support the maintenance and servicing of our Lely Astronaut automated milking systems. This is a hands‑on engineering role ideal for someone with strong technical skills, a passion for problem‑solving, and a desire to support farmers with the latest advancements in on‑farm technology.

We aim to cover the South of the region, spanning Somerset, Dorset and parts of Wiltshire.

The Successful Candidate Should Ideally

• Have previous experience, and/or a relevant qualification in service, mechanical or electrical engineering
• Work on an on‑call rota with overtime
• Have a full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points
• Willingness to undertake extensive travel within the specified area at times
• Computer literate
• Must be able to analyse situations, identify problems and solve them
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and colleagues
• Participate in continual training to improve knowledge and skills
• Self‑motivated, well‑organised, and able to work and communicate effectively within a team as well as independently
