Job summary

Lely Center Yeovil is seeking a Service Engineer to support maintenance and servicing of the Lely Astronaut automated milking systems. This field-based role covers the South region, including Somerset, Dorset and parts of Wiltshire.

The position offers a basic salary with overtime, a company van, laptop, mobile, and training, plus a pension and insurance benefits as you work with farmers to keep high-tech farming solutions running.

Qualifications

• Experience or qualification in service, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience on on-call rota with overtime.
• Full UK driving licence (max 6 points).
• Willingness to travel within the region.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and service Lely Astronaut milking systems.
• Cover the South region across Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.
• Work with farmers to implement high-tech solutions.
• Travel as required and manage on-site customer relations.

Service Engineer - Lely Center Yeovil

Join a fast-growing team at the forefront of agricultural technology. Lely is known for driving innovation in livestock farming, and our Lely Center is expanding to meet rising demand for our advanced feed and barn solutions—including the latest in automated cleaning, feeding, and animal care systems.

We're looking for a Service Engineer to support the maintenance and servicing of our Lely Astronaut automated milking systems. This is a hands-on engineering role ideal for someone with strong technical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and a desire to support farmers with the latest advancements in on-farm technology.

You will cover the South of our region, spanning from Somerset, Dorset and parts of Wiltshire.

Qualifications

• Previous experience and/or a relevant qualification in service, mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Experience working on an on-call rota with overtime.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 6 points.
• Willingness to undertake extensive travel within the assigned area at times.
• Computer literacy.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse situations and identify problems.
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Participation in continual training to develop and improve skills.
• Self-motivation, well-organised and able to work and communicate effectively within a team as well as individually.
