Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking a skilled Cook for a Ministry of Defence site in the UK. You will prepare and serve fresh meals in a busy kitchen, maintaining high standards and food safety while working closely with front-of-house staff to ensure a positive dining experience for military personnel.

We offer a 40-hour week, 5 days out of 7, at a competitive rate and a structured environment designed to develop your catering career.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in a catering or hospitality environment.
• A relevant catering qualification is desirable, but not essential.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Able to work well as part of a team in a busy kitchen.
• A genuine passion for cooking and providing high-quality food and service.
• Experience in military or government catering would be an advantage.
• IOSH qualification and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals in a busy, professional kitchen.
• Deliver delicious, well-presented food to military personnel, maintaining standards.
• Work with front-of-house to provide a friendly, efficient service.
• Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
• Assist with bulk cooking and ensure consistency across dishes.
• Contribute to smooth kitchen operations and sanitation practices.
• Participate in special functions and events to showcase skills.
