Job summary

Oldham Engineering Limited in Oldham is seeking experienced Welders, MIG/TIG Welders and Platers to join a heavy fabrication team. The role involves reading drawings, assembling and welding, and ensuring high-quality fabrication to meet safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Welder, MIG/TIG Welder or Plater within fabrication, engineering or heavy manufacturing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
• Strong practical fabrication and welding skills.
• Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Awareness of safe working practices and lifting operations.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and job specifications.
• Mark out, assemble, fit, tack and weld components.
• Carry out plating, fabrication and welding activities to the required standard.
• Use fabrication machinery, welding equipment and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy.
• Work with overhead cranes and lifting equipment where trained.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area.
• Follow all company quality and health & safety procedures.
