Job summary

ARCA Consulting Ltd in Cambridgeshire is seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join a skilled fabrication team. You will perform MIG/MAG welding, fabricate from engineering drawings and ensure workmanship meets safety and quality standards.

You should be comfortable reading weld symbols, working with mild and structural steels, and taking pride in high-quality fabrications. A welding qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds) is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with MIG/MAG welding on metal structures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience with mild steel, stainless steel or structural fabrications.
• Current welding qualification or certification is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• MIG/MAG welding of fabricated components and assemblies.
• Fabrication and fitting of components from engineering drawings.
• Preparing, fitting, tack welding and final welding of assemblies.
• Grinding, finishing and inspection of completed work.
• Ensuring work is completed to required quality and safety standards.
• Collaborating with engineering, assembly and production teams.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining high workshop standards.
