Job summary

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a Clinical Practice Facilitator for Midwifery to develop, support and oversee midwifery placements for pre-registration midwives, return to practice midwives, shortened midwifery courses and allied health student placements.

You will support, educate and develop clinical staff, supervisors, assessors and students in line with SSSA guidelines, promoting a culture of lifelong learning.

Qualifications

• Registered midwife with current NMC registration.
• Experience in education/placements or mentorship roles.
• Knowledge of SSSA guidelines and assessment processes.
• Ability to recruit and support learners in practice.

Responsibilities

• Act as the identified link in practice for pre-registration and Return to Practice learners to promote a culture of learning.
• Collaborate with HEIs and placement areas with the Head of Education.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SSSA guidelines and assessment processes.
• Promote feedback to HEIs following clinical placements and ensure actions.
• Assist with recruitment for entry into pre-registration programmes.
• Support supervisors, assessors and education staff to integrate theory and practice.
• Develop strategies to enhance the clinical learning environment and deliver teaching sessions.
• Ensure robust induction and orientation to placement areas.
• Contribute to policies for learner placements.
• Maintain presence in the maternity clinical area delivering supervision.
