Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Practice Development Midwife to lead and develop midwifery practice within the maternity service. The post focuses on programme planning, multi professional teaching and facilitating learning across the trust.

The role collaborates with Clinical placement Facilitators, Clinical Governance and Senior Midwifery teams to implement the practice development agenda, deliver mandatory training, and support preceptorship and induction for staff

Qualifications

• Advanced midwifery practitioner with excellent clinical standards.
• Lead on professional development activities and mandatory training.
• Lead on preceptorship programmes and clinical placement activity.
• Plan, deliver and review learning interventions with the team.
• Coordinate PROMPT sessions and assess competency through training.
• Support induction for new staff and returning staff.
• Collaborate with education and governance teams to improve learning environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead on agreed professional development activities including mandatory training.
• Coordinate delivery of multidisciplinary PROMPT sessions.
• Deliver training and assess competency through observation and feedback.
• Support preceptorship and induction programmes for new staff.
• Assess quality of learning environments and propose improvements.
