Job summary

Nationwide invites ambitious Business Development Directors to drive origination and execution of leveraged finance opportunities across the Midlands, including Birmingham, Leicester and Nottingham. You will build and manage a regional portfolio, travel regularly, and work within a hybrid model across Nationwide's UK estate.

You will lead deal structuring, credit papers, and negotiations with management teams, advisors and funding partners, while maintaining a strong focus on customer outcomes

Qualifications

• Experience working within a Business Banking team.
• Strong professional network in Midlands Corporate Finance market.
• A proven track record in originating and securing commercial lending opportunities of £5m+ including leverage finance/cashflow solutions.
• Some experience in managing all aspects of a deal process from inception to completion; preparation of detailed credit papers, negotiations with Management Teams, Advisors and Funding Partners, Due Diligence, and deal completion management.
• Detailed knowledge of UK financial markets with focus on Commercial Banking and Leverage Finance segments.
• Expert knowledge of banking products and services.

Responsibilities

• Generating new opportunities targeted at large commercial and mid-sized corporate businesses within the Midlands.
• Establishing and managing external professional relationships to produce quality referrals.
• Origination and execution of lending opportunities to lend on bilateral or club basis and generate ancillary income.
• Analyzing and interpreting accounts to inform decisions; calculate ratios, interpret cash flow forecasts, credit modelling and assess management teams.
• Manage risk and compliance to minimise exposure and stay within risk appetite.
