Job summary

Staffline is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join the Midlands team. You will assemble and service complex components for the scientific industry, ensuring accuracy and meeting customer demand.

The role requires a broad range of electrical, mechanical, and computer-based engineering competencies, with emphasis on fault diagnosis, parts planning, and proactive customer liaison. A team-oriented, proactive attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• A wide range of electrical, mechanical and computer-based engineering skills.
• Experience of working on commercial equipment within a production environment is required.
• Strong communication, IT and customer liaison skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Install, investigate and repair machine faults of an electrical and mechanical nature.
• Plan and prepare parts/equipment and resources for repairs to be completed promptly.
• Communicate escalations, problems, concerns or delays to the CSC/Supervisor/Customer and follow up with a report.
• Assist customers and internal staff with identifying spare parts.
• Maintain clear customer communication, take ownership of faults/calls, and provide helpdesk/remote support as needed.
• Observe Health and Safety and Working time regulations; follow company policy.
