Job summary

Alameda Middle School is seeking a qualified athletic coach to lead a student-athlete program and help develop a culture of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. The coach will work with the athletic director and principal to align activities with school goals and ensure a safe, engaging environment for participants.

The role emphasizes skill development, strategy, and fair play, with focus on building strong teams and positive relationships across staff, students, and families.

Qualifications

• Idaho Teacher Certification or NFHS/ASEP certification is required.
• Previous experience as a player and/or coach is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive relations with student-athletes and promote participation.
• Cooperate with administration and keep them informed about program matters.
• Build a strong coaching staff with defined roles and mutual support.
• Promote the athletic program and support other coaches.
• Maintain relationships with staff, booster club, parents, and the community.
• Develop an all-around sports program that competes regionally and statewide.
• Teach and demonstrate sport skills, tactics, and strategies.
• Develop students physically and emotionally while maintaining discipline.
• Motivate student-athletes to perform their best and keep programs organized.
