Job summary

Heathwood Lower School is seeking a friendly Midday Supervisor to join the lunch team. You will help pupils aged 4 to 9 develop healthy eating habits, manners, and safe, active play during the lunch break.

The role involves supervising in the dining hall and playground, assisting with packaging and meals, and supporting staff to ensure a smooth transition between morning and afternoon sessions. DBS checks are required; training including safeguarding is provided.

Qualifications

• Patient, kind and approachable with young children.
• Excellent communication skills and team collaboration.
• Proactive attitude toward children's safety and well-being.
• Flexible with a good sense of humour.
• Experience with children is desirable, but a positive attitude and willingness to learn matter most.

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in the dining hall, aid with opening packaging and cutlery, keep the area clean.
• Lead and encourage playground games, ensuring inclusion, activity and safety.
• Manage pupil behaviour in line with the school's policy.
• Attend to minor accidents and provide basic first aid (training provided).
• Collaborate with teaching staff and other supervisors for smooth transitions between lessons and registration.

Heathwood Lower School is a thriving lower school looking for a dedicated Midday Supervisor to join our friendly lunch team. In this role, you will help our pupils aged 4 to 9 develop healthy eating habits, practice good manners, and engage in safe, active play.

Your Core Responsibilities:

• Supervise children in the dining hall, assisting them with opening packaging, using cutlery, and maintaining a clean environment.
• Lead and encourage playground games, ensuring all children are included, active, and safe.
• Manage pupil behaviour positively in line with the school's behaviour policy.
• Attend to minor accidents and administer basic first aid (training will be provided).
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other supervisors to ensure a smooth transition between morning lessons and afternoon registration.
