Job summary

Croft Primary School in Sutton-in-Ashfield is seeking a friendly lunchtime supervisor to help provide a safe, positive dining experience for pupils aged 4–11.

You will work as part of a team to supervise dining and play areas, support smooth queuing, uphold Croft's behaviour policy, and assist with training where needed.

Qualifications

• Must have good communication skills.
• Be a team player with high expectations of conduct.
• Show caring attitude and patience with children.
• Willing to undergo training as required.
• Experience with children and promoting positive play is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in dining areas and outdoor play areas.
• Manage queues to dining areas and facilitate speedy service.
• Maintain an orderly and pleasant meals service.
• Remove spills promptly; ensure trays not left in dangerous positions.
• Supervise return of used trays, crockery and cutlery.
• Ensure dining tables are left clean for the next occupant.
• Keep dining areas clean and tidy.
• Arrange supervision to allow movement among pupils within the area.
• Ensure acceptable standards of behaviour per Croft Code and Behaviour Policy.
• Minimise risk of children hurting themselves, others or property.
• Supervise pupils in classrooms during bad weather.

• Willing to undergo training appropriate to the role
• Experience of working with children, promoting positive play and conflict resolution would be an advantage.

Duties will include:

• Supervising the pupils in the dining areas and outdoor play areas
• Supervising queues to dining areas and facilitate speedy service
• Ensure that the overall arrangement for children to dine promotes an orderly and pleasant meals service.
• Ensure that any spillage is removed quickly; trays are not left in dangerous positions, and are wiped where necessary.
• Supervise return of used trays, crockery and cutlery by the pupils.
• Ensure that tables are left clean for the next occupant.
• Ensure dining areas are left clean and tidy
• Arrange supervision to allow movement amongst the pupils within the area covered.
• Ensure acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained in line with the Croft Code and School Behaviour Policy.
• Minimise the likelihood of children hurting themselves, others or damaging property.
• Supervising pupils in classrooms during bad weather.
