Job summary

St. Stephens CE Primary Astley is seeking a friendly Midday Assistant to supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground and support the busy school environment. The role requires liaising with Class Teachers and other staff, using initiative, and upholding the Christian ethos of the school.

Hours are 12:00pm–1:15pm, Monday to Friday, term time (38 weeks) with 6.25 hours per week, permanent position, starting October 2026. Salary the Grade 2 scale (£3,674 p.a.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic and caring Midday Assistant.
• Able to supervise in dining hall and playground.
• Liaise closely with Class Teachers and other staff.
• Promote Christian values and ethos of the school.
• Understand the confidential nature of the position.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in the dining hall and playground after lunch.
• Outdoor and classroom supervision as required.
• Duties may involve basic first aid issues.
• Work closely with the Midday team and class teachers.
