Job summary

St Andrew's is seeking a Midday Supervisory Assistant to supervise pupils at midday breaks, promoting safe, calm and happy lunchtime experiences in line with school policies and Christian ethos.

Responsibilities include helping with meals, basic cleaning, and responding to minor incidents. Training is provided; prior experience is advantageous but not required. Permanent contract, term time only, with hours fixed each week.

• Experience of working with children or in a school setting would be an advantage.

• Support pupils in the dining hall, including moving to and from dining areas
• Assist pupils with meals where necessary (e.g. trays, cutlery, drinks)
• Maintain good order and behaviour during lunchtime
• Assist with clearing tables, wiping surfaces and dealing with spillages
• Carry out minor first aid and report accidents or incidents appropriately
• Supervise pupils on the playground or external areas when required
• Work closely with other staff and fully comply with safeguarding procedures

Job description

As a Midday Supervisory Assistant, you will be responsible for supervising pupils during the midday break, both in the dining hall and, at times, outdoors. You will help ensure that lunchtime is a safe, calm and happy experience for all children, promoting positive behaviour in line with the school's policies and Christian ethos. The role also includes supporting pupils during meals, assisting with basic cleaning and clearing duties in dining areas, and responding appropriately to minor accidents or incidents.,

  The role is offered as a permanent contract, term time only. Your normal working hours would be 11.30am to 1.15pm on Mondays and Fridays and 11.50am to 1.35pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays (8 hours 45 minutes per week).
