Job summary

Chepping View Primary Academy is seeking a Midday Supervisor to manage lunchtimes for KS2 (and support KS1 and reception). The role is permanent with a start date around November 2026, and closes 31 August 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Set out and clear lunch tables, cutlery and water.
  • Clean up after lunchtimes.
  • Observe and support children with eating their lunch.
  • Supervise wet lunchtimes in classrooms on rainy days.
  • Follow school behaviour management and safeguarding procedures.
  • Supervise children in the hall and on the playground to create happy lunchtimes.
  • Organise and teach children new games and activities.
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed.

Midday Supervisor

Midday Supervisor (predominantly KS2 but may also support KS1 and reception). Hiring for permanent contract.

Position Details
  • Salary: Pay Range 1A £24,630 FTE; Actual annual salary pro rata £3,671 based on 38 weeks per year (£12.77 per hour)
  • Hours: 12:00pm-1:20pm, Monday - Friday (6 hours 40 minutes per week)
  • Contract type: Permanent
  • Closing date: 31 August 2026
  • Starting date: November 2026 (pending satisfactory clearance of all pre‑employment checks)
  • Reporting to: Senior Leadership Team
  • Responsible for: Management of lunchtimes

Job Description

Main responsibilities: The post-holder will be expected to carry out the following:

Safeguarding
  • Responsible, under the direction of the Head of Academy or another designated teacher, for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of all children within the establishment and to ensure that safeguarding is a priority by following procedures effectively and immediately.
  • Vigilance and sensitivity is essential.
Person Specification
  • Ability to communicate with young children effectively and a good level of spoken English.
  • A good attendance record.
