Job summary

The Governors at Croft Primary School are seeking two Midday Supervisors to join our friendly team, ensuring pupils have a safe and positive lunchtime experience. You will supervise dining and outdoor play areas and help maintain an orderly environment during lunch periods.

Successful candidates will promote positive behaviour, support a caring school community, and may receive training related to the role. Two positions are available for term-time only hours.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in dining areas and outdoor play areas.
• Manage queues to dining areas and ensure speedy service.
• Maintain orderly and pleasant dining environments.
• Ensure spills are cleaned, trays cleared, and resources stored safely.
• Supervise return of used trays and dining utensils.
• Keep dining areas clean and tidy for the next group.
• Support movement and supervision during lunch periods.
• Uphold Croft Code and School Behaviour Policy.
• Minimise risk of harm to pupils and property.
• Provide general supervision during bad weather in classrooms.
• Administer basic first aid when necessary.

Number of children 337 – Age range 4 – 11 years

• Experience of working with children, promoting positive play and conflict resolution would be an advantage.

Duties Will Include

• Supervising the pupils in the dining areas and outdoor play areas
• Supervising queues to dining areas and facilitate speedy service
• Ensure that the overall arrangement for children to dine promotes an orderly and pleasant meals service.
• Ensure that any spillage is removed quickly; trays are not left in dangerous positions, and are wiped where necessary.
• Supervise return of used trays, crockery and cutlery by the pupils.
• Ensure that tables are left clean for the next occupant.
• Ensure dining areas are left clean and tidy
• Arrange supervision to allow movement amongst the pupils within the area covered.
• Ensure acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained in line with the Croft Code and School Behaviour Policy.
• Minimise the likelihood of children hurting themselves, others or damaging property.
• Supervising pupils in classrooms during bad weather.
• Administering first aid.
