Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a friendly Midday Supervisor to join a primary school near Ely and Newmarket, Fordham area. You will supervise lunchtime activities, support dining hall routines, and help create a safe, enjoyable environment for pupils from 11:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.

The role offers local part-time hours, immediate start, weekly pay, and the chance to contribute to a supportive school community while keeping mornings and evenings free.

Qualifications

• Experience as a midday supervisor or lunchtime assistant is desirable.
• Excellent communication and a patient, caring approach with primary-aged children.
• Punctual and reliable with the ability to work 11:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday.
• Full Right to Work in the UK and DBS Update Service (or willingness to process).

Responsibilities

• Playground supervision: lead activities, monitor children during outdoor break, ensure inclusive and safe play.
• Dining hall support: assist younger children with seating, opening food, encouraging good manners, keep dining areas clean.
• Promote safety & wellbeing: uphold behaviour guidelines, resolve minor incidents, provide or report injuries when necessary.
• Support school transitions: help with transitions between dining hall, play areas, and afternoon classrooms.
• Team communication: liaise with teaching staff, site team, and leadership to ensure pupil welfare.

Randstad Education is currently seeking a friendly Midday Supervisor to join a supportive primary school community near Ely and Newmarket. Working 20 hours per week (11:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday), this role is ideal if you are looking for local part-time hours that fit perfectly around family or other morning and evening commitments.

As a Midday Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring lunchtimes run smoothly, creating a safe, positive, and active environment for children both in the dining hall and on the playground.

Key Responsibilities

• Playground Supervision: As an encouraging Midday Supervisor, you will lead play activities, monitor children during outdoor break time, and ensure games are inclusive and safe.




• Dining Hall Support: Assist younger children with seating, opening food packaging, encouraging good table manners, and keeping dining areas clean and organized.




• Promote Safety & Wellbeing: Uphold school behavior guidelines, resolve minor pupil disagreements with patience, and provide first aid support or report injuries when necessary.




• Support School Transitions: Help manage the smooth transition of classes between the dining hall, outdoor play areas, and afternoon classrooms.




• Team Communication: Work closely with teaching assistants, site staff, and senior leadership as an attentive Midday Supervisor to ensure pupil welfare is maintained throughout the afternoon.

Candidate Profile

We are searching for a warm, reliable Midday Supervisor who enjoys working alongside young children.

• Prior experience as a Midday Supervisor, lunchtime assistant, nursery worker, or child-carer is desirable, but a positive, caring attitude is most important!




• Excellent communication skills and a patient, approachable manner with primary-aged children.




• Punctual, reliable, and available to work 11:00am to 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.




• Full Right to Work in the UK.




• Holds an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or readiness to process one immediately through Randstad).
