Job summary

E-ACT Braintcroft Academy is seeking a dedicated Midday Supervisor to support pupils during lunchtime and outdoor activities. You will help maintain a safe, welcoming dining area and assist pupils with difficulties, while promoting positive behaviour in line with school policies.

The role requires strong communication and safeguarding awareness, with a caring, proactive approach to pupil wellbeing. Prior school-based experience is desirable and GCSEs or equivalent are expected.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with pupils and staff.
• Experience managing behaviour positively and consistently per school policy.
• Safeguarding focus with up-to-date training and a caring approach.
• Teamwork with independence when required.
• GCSEs or equivalent and basic first aid awareness.

Responsibilities

• Supervising pupils before, during and after lunchtime, including meals.
• Maintaining a clean, safe dining environment and encouraging pupils to clear away trays and belongings.
• Supervising pupils during outdoor play and recreational activities.
• Assisting pupils with difficulties that may arise during lunchtime and providing appropriate support.

Key responsibilities:

• Supervising pupils immediately before, during and after the lunchtime period, including those having school meals and those bringing packed lunches.
• Supporting the maintenance of a clean, safe and welcoming dining environment by encouraging pupils to clear away trays, litter and personal belongings responsibly.
• Supervising pupils during outdoor play and recreational activities.
• Assisting pupils with any difficulties that may arise during lunchtime and providing appropriate support where necessary.

Pay range: NJC SCP 3 £8,898.88 + £1,389.69 (Inner London Allowance) 15 hours a week, 38 weeks a year.

FTE: £25,614.00 + £4,000 (Inner London Allowance) 37 hours a week, 52 weeks a year.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils and staff.
• Ability and experience of managing behaviour positively and consistently in line with school policies.
• A caring, proactive approach to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing with up to date training.
• Teamwork skills with the confidence to work independently when required.
• Basic first aid awareness (or willingness to train), good organisation, and a general education (e.g. GCSEs or equivalent), with prior school-based experience desirable.
