Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking a Midday Supervisor for Derby schools. This term-time role offers £14.25-£16.78 per hour, paid weekly, with immediate start.

You will supervise pupils in dining halls and on playgrounds, support positive behaviour, assist with lunch duties and follow safeguarding procedures to keep pupils safe. DBS checks and right to work in the UK are required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in school, nursery, club or similar setting.
• A calm, friendly and confident manner, with the ability to manage groups of pupils.
• Reliable and punctual.
• A basic understanding of safeguarding in a school setting.
• A current first aid certificate is desirable.
• An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils in the dining hall and on the playground or school grounds during lunch.
• Encourage positive behaviour and follow the school's behaviour policy.
• Help younger pupils with their lunch, including opening packaging and clearing away.
• Keep an eye out for allergies and dietary needs, following the school's procedures.
• Report accidents, incidents and any concerns to the senior member of staff on duty.
• Follow the school's safeguarding, health and safety and first aid procedures.
