Job summary

Empowering Learning Ltd in Nottingham is seeking a reliable Midday Supervisor to help supervise pupils during lunch breaks in local schools. This role is term-time only with holidays off and weekly pay.

You will monitor the dining hall and playground, support pupils with lunches, and ensure safeguarding procedures are followed. A DBS check and right to work in the UK are required or willingness to obtain DBS.

Immediate start available, with a friendly consultant from Empowering Learning to assist.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in schools, nurseries, clubs or similar settings.
• Calm, friendly and confident manner with ability to manage groups.
• Reliable and punctual in a school environment.
• Basic understanding of safeguarding in a school setting.
• Current first aid certificate is desirable.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Supervising pupils in the dining hall and on the playground during lunch breaks.
• Encouraging positive behaviour and following the school's behaviour policy.
• Helping younger pupils with lunch, including opening packaging and clearing away.
• Watching for allergies and dietary needs and following school procedures.
• Reporting accidents, incidents and concerns to the senior staff on duty.
• Following safeguarding, health and safety and first aid procedures.

Pay: £14.25-£16.78 per hour, paid weekly

What you’ll be doing

• Supervising pupils in the dining hall and on the playground or school grounds during the lunch break
• Encouraging positive behaviour and following the school's behaviour policy
• Helping younger pupils with their lunch, including opening packaging and clearing away
• Keeping an eye out for allergies and dietary needs, following the school's procedures
• Reporting accidents, incidents and any concerns to the senior member of staff on duty
• Following the school's safeguarding, health and safety and first aid procedures

What you’ll need

• Previous experience working with children (in a school, nursery, club or similar setting)
