Job summary

Academics is seeking a dedicated Midday Meal Supervisor for a long-term position at a SEN school in Crowborough. The role centres on creating a safe, positive lunchtime environment for pupils with special educational needs.

Hours are 11:30am–2:00pm, Monday to Friday, with weekly pay and ongoing consultant support. A DBS check and right to work in the UK are required, with training opportunities offered to support professional development.

Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime, ensuring they are safe, settled and supported.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote good social skills and independence.
• Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs and learning difficulties.
• Monitor pupils during lunch and outdoor/indoor play activities.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to any behavioural or emotional needs that may arise.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils, helping them to feel safe and supported.
• Work closely with teaching and support staff to ensure pupils' individual needs are understood and met.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

Job Summary

At Academics, we're looking for an enthusiastic Midday Meal Supervisor for a long-term position based at a SEN school in Crowborough.

The role would suit someone with experience working with children or young people, particularly within education, care, support work or SEN settings. However, we're also keen to hear from individuals with the right attitude, patience and willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise pupils during lunchtime, ensuring they are safe, settled and supported.

• An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, Special Educational Needs.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• The right to work in the UK.
