Job summary

Oakfields Preparatory School in Upminster is seeking a friendly Midday Assistant to join our lunchtime team. You will help supervise pupils aged 2 ½ to 11 during the break, promote safe, inclusive play and support wellbeing, ensuring a positive and calm atmosphere in the dining area and outdoor spaces.

The post emphasizes teamwork, reliability and the ability to respond calmly to changing priorities. Training and professional development will be provided.

Job Title: Midday Assistant
Location: Oakfields Prep, Harwood Hall Lane, RM14 2YG
Salary: £14.87 per hour
Hours: 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Contract: Permanent | Term Time

Role Purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to assist our team as a Midday Assistant. The postholder will assist in maintaining the safety, wellbeing and effective supervision of pupils during the lunchtime period, ensuring a positive, caring and inclusive environment in which pupils can enjoy their break safely and confidently.

The post holder will help create a positive, caring and inclusive environment, encouraging good behaviour and positive social interaction while ensuring the welfare of pupils at all times. As a valued member of the Oakfields Preparatory School community, you will uphold the school's values, policies and high standards of professional conduct, contributing to a happy and safe lunchtime experience for all pupils.
