Trading Underwriter - Salary is competitive depending on experience

Location – Bristol

We are currently looking for an experienced Trading Underwriter to join the Aviva business.

As a Trading underwriter, you will be responsible for servicing brokers, underwriting new business, renewals, and MTAs. This role is ideal for someone with a broking or underwriting background who is passionate about developing their career.

You will be aligned with a portfolio of brokers/customers to proactively develop and profitably grow their commercial book of business. Partnering with brokers and customers to understand their needs, using data insights to provide comprehensive customer solutions.

This role requires travel to broker visits across the South West, so flexibility is necessary.

A bit about the job:

• Operate as a multiclass underwriter within guidelines to grow the book profitably
• Build confidence with brokers/customers through face-to-face meetings
• Manage end-to-end dealings with brokers/customers
• Align with Aviva's regional SME & Mid Market trading strategy
• Develop understanding of the commercial business sector

Skills and experience required:

• Experience in property & liability and/or fleet underwriting
• Ability to analyze risks and communicate effectively
• Collaborative work style within a large organization
• Knowledge of FCA regulations and legislation
• Strong commercial acumen for business case creation and delivery
