Summary

Job title:Microsoft Cloud Engineer

Location:Remote-working opportunity

Department:Cloud Services / Delivery Team

Salary:£35,000 to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience

We’re on the hunt for a high-energy, passionate Microsoft Cloud Engineer to join our expanding delivery team at Cloud9 Security. If you’re someone who thrives on solving complex challenges, enjoys direct customer interaction, and wants to be part of a fast-paced, growing cloud security specialist company—this role is for you.

You’ll be hands-on with the latest Microsoft Cloud technologies, delivering both day-to-day support and technical project work across Microsoft 365 and Azure platforms. You’ll be driven, technically strong, and customer-focused, with a proactive attitude and a genuine interest in security-first cloud solutions.

  • At least 5 years’ experience in IT
  • Intermediate to Expert-level hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Azure
  • Solid grasp of cloud governance, compliance, and security best practices
  • Foundational knowledge and expertise in Networking, Virtualisation and traditional On-Premises infrastructure
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience delivering both support and project-based work
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Microsoft Endpoint Management knowledge and expertise
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender suite and Sentinel
  • Experience with Cyber Essentials and CIS Benchmarks
  • Good working knowledge of how to use Artificial Intelligence
  • Having completed any of the SC-200, SC-300 or AZ-500 Microsoft certification

Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage cloud security best practices
  • Implement solutions across Microsoft 365 and Azure environments
  • Support customers with incidents relating to complex cloud issues
  • Deliver cloud migration and transformation projects
  • Deliver solutions and resolve problems within tight deadlines
  • Out of hours working may be required on occasion
  • Identify sales opportunities and be rewarded
  • Log your time accurately an ITSM tool
  • Collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve delivery knowledge and skills
  • Provide high-quality documentation and customer training as needed

  • You have strong verbal and written communication skills (including questioning and presentation skills)
  • You’ll have the ability to learn technical concepts and eloquently convey their value to potential customers

  • You can document support actions and projects to a high standard.

Location

Cloud9 Security is a remote working company, with our team dispersed throughout the Midlands, London, Cornwall, Suffolk and Sweden(!), so, you must be motivated to work from home. You should reside in the UK as occasional travel to customer sites, and for team meet-ups is required. Ideally, you will be able to commute into London once a month if required.
