Public Health Wales Microbiology operates as a network of laboratories with Regional Laboratories across Wales. The Band 4 Associate Practitioner post within our Hot lab team based at University Hospital Llandough is to undertake routine laboratory procedures with supervision and gain experience in diagnostic services using rapid molecular platforms.

Qualifications

• Proven Microbiology laboratory experience and associated work-based education/competency.
• Opportunity to rotate through sections and gain experience in molecular science and microbiological diagnostic testing.
• Training beyond molecular techniques with potential areas in Bacteriology and Virology.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, checking and processing of samples.
• Data entry into the laboratory information system.
• Flexibility to work 24/7 shift patterns as required.
