Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Preston is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant (Band 2) to join the Microbiology team. The role involves the day-to-day processing of specimens, supporting Biomedical Scientists and delivering timely results for patient care.

No prior laboratory experience is required as full training is provided; the post involves shift patterns covering 24/7, including weekends and bank holidays.

Formación

• Educated to GCSE level with Maths, English and Science
• RSA II
• NVQ2 Clinical Support

Responsabilidades

• Communicate effectively with clinical staff and external clients regarding test requests.
• Answer and log telephone results clearly.
• Operate laboratory IT systems and process specimens as directed.
• Work on a shift rota including nights, weekends and bank holidays.
• Order stock from Main Stores and supply to wards/GP practices as needed.
• Ensure correct specimens are collected and prepared for investigations.
