Job summary

HSBC in the UK seeks an MI Analytics & Visualisation Lead to own the cloud and infrastructure cost reporting and to drive data-driven insights for senior leaders.

You will lead a specialist team at the intersection of data, finance and technology, focusing on modern visualization tools and AI-enabled insight, with opportunities for professional development and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Strong financial operations and cost management experience in global banking/financial services.
• Advanced BI capability including data and semantic modelling.
• Experience with visualisation tools such as BI, Looker, Apache Superset.
• Awareness of FinOps trends, cloud cost management best practices.
• Data management and governance skills, financial systems understanding, data integration.
• Excellent stakeholder communication with senior management and non-technical audiences.
• Leadership and delivery experience in agile, fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Own the cost transparency reporting suite for Public Cloud and On‑ Premise Infrastructure, including ongoing maintenance and improvements.
• Design, develop and maintain financial dashboards and reports that translate cost and performance into clear, decision-ready insights.
• Analyse cost drivers and optimisation opportunities, monitoring KPIs, spotting trends/anomalies, and recommending cost-saving actions.
• Lead data integration, governance and integrity, combining multiple sources and keeping models current as the financial landscape changes.
• Lead and prioritise delivery through the operating model and organise work through sprint-style planning.

You’ll play a key part in shaping how HSBC manages and optimises cloud and infrastructure spend. You’ll own the dashboards senior leaders rely on, lead a specialist team, and drive tangible cost and efficiency outcomes, plus you’ll be right at the intersection of data, finance, and technology, with a strong focus on modern visualisation tools and AI-enabled insight.

In This Role You Will

• Own the cost transparency reporting suite for Public Cloud and On‑Premise Infrastructure, including ongoing maintenance and improvements
• Design, develop and maintain financial dashboards and reports that translate cost and performance into clear, decision-ready insights
• Analyse cost drivers and optimisation opportunities, monitoring KPIs, spotting trends/anomalies, and recommending cost-saving actions
• Lead data integration, governance and integrity, combining multiple sources and keeping models current as the financial landscape changes
• Lead and prioritise delivery through the operating model and organise work through sprint-style planning

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

• Strong financial operations and cost management experience, within a global banking/financial services environment
• Advanced BI capability including data and semantic modelling
• Extensive experience using a breadth of visualisation tools such as BI / Looker / Apache Superset
• Awareness of FinOps industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in cloud financial management
• Data management and governance strength skills, financial systems understanding, data integration, and ensuring consistency/accuracy across sources.
• Excellent Stakeholder communication skills with the ability to present complex financial insights clearly to senior management and non-technical stakeholders
• Leadership and delivery skill, experienced in leading teams, managing multiple initiatives, and delivering in a fast-paced, agile environment

London office relocation:

Between January and April 2027, many office-based HSBC employees in London will move from either 8 Canada Square or Queen Victoria Street to one of our new sites at St. Paul’s or Canary Wharf. Depending on when they join, successful candidates may start at an existing office before moving or join directly at a new location.
