We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Customer Intelligence Analyst on a fixed term contract until December 2027.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to play a key role in shaping how HSBC understands and responds to customer behaviour through data-driven insights and advanced analytics.

As a Customer Intelligence Analyst, you’ll work at the heart of customer analytics, transforming complex data into meaningful stories, actionable recommendations, and measurable business outcomes. You’ll partner closely with Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and business stakeholders to uncover trends, identify growth opportunities, and support strategic decision‑making across the organisation.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoy combining analytical thinking with storytelling, thrives in a collaborative environment, and wants to broaden their experience in customer analytics within a global organisation.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Analyse customer data to identify trends, drivers, and opportunities related to customer growth, engagement, and experience
  • Develop and maintain customer datasets, metrics, dashboards, and reporting solutions that support enterprise decision-making
  • Partner with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering teams to define data requirements, validate pipelines and improve data models
  • Apply analytical techniques such as segmentation, driver analysis, trend analysis, and AI-enabled analytics to deepen customer understanding
  • Translate complex analysis into clear narratives, visualisations, and actionable recommendations for stakeholders across the business

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Experience within customer analytics, data analysis, or insight-driven roles, using data to influence decision‑making
  • Strong SQL capability and experience working with large, complex datasets
  • Experience using BI and visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to communicate insights effectively
  • Understanding of analytical techniques including segmentation, hypothesis testing, predictive modelling, or AI/advanced analytics tools
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences
