Job summary

Medair UK seeks a Mental Health & Psychosocial Support Advisor to lead national MHPSS programming and ensure adherence to international standards. The role focuses on training staff, monitoring activities, and integrating MHPSS with protection and health components across sites.

You will help develop new projects, support budgeting and donor reporting, and coordinate with field managers and partners to deliver high-quality MHPSS services in challenging contexts.

Qualifications

• Degree in psychology, global health, social work or related field; Master's preferred.
• 3 years’ experience in international MHPSS programs, 1 year in emergencies.
• Knowledge of Sphere/IASC standards and humanitarian guidelines.
• Strong planning, assessment, and analytical capabilities.
• Experience designing, monitoring, and evaluating community MHPSS programs.
• Strong report/ proposal writing skills for institutional donors; English fluency.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical oversight for MHPSS programming nationally and ensure alignment with standards.
• Develop new projects, advise field managers, assist in proposal design/writing.
• Conduct monitoring visits to meet objectives per donor standards.
• Provide training, tools, and coaching to MHPSS staff with regional PM support.
• Represent Medair at health sector meetings and coordinate with partners.
• Support staff recruitment, training, and strengthen team capacity.
• Oversee budgets, procurement, and accountability in MHPSS processes.
• Guide cross-sector integration of MHPSS into health, shelter, and protection.
• Mainstream protection standards across sectors; report feedback to HQ.
