Job summary

Human Appeal seeks a Head of UK Programmes to lead UK programming, partnerships, funding, and project delivery aligned with our humanitarian values. The role focuses on designing and implementing UK strategy while ensuring strong donor reporting and stakeholder relations.

Based in Greater Manchester, you will build local government and civil society connections, drive programme planning, and monitor delivery to maximise impact in the UK context.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in the charity sector.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Excellent English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement UK programming strategy and funding handbook in consultation with internal stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Programmes and Fundraising to update strategies and plans as required.
• Ensure UK strategic priorities align with departmental and organisational strategy and enhance HA presence in civil societies in Greater Manchester.
• Lead UK networking with stakeholders by attending events and representing HA in relevant platforms.
• Grow HA's profile in the UK charity sector through partnerships with councils, partners and donors.
• Prepare annual UK programme business plan and set funding targets against ROI.
• Identify funding sources and prepare donor proposals in coordination with HA Fundraising and Programmes teams.
• Research funding opportunities from local trusts, foundations and institutional donors; develop proposals.
• Support fundraising activities for UK-based programmes ensuring campaign briefs and context reports inform pricing/stories.
