Job summary

Valeo Foods in Heanor is seeking a Day Shift Mezz Floor Operator to join our production team on a rotating day schedule (6am–3:30pm). The role covers mixing to plan, following SOPs and HACCP controls, and maintaining accurate records and IFS transactions.

You will work Monday to Friday with rotating shift patterns, supporting safe, efficient production and quality output across our Christmas puddings site in Heanor.

Qualifications

• Experience on mezz floor and bulk prep positions, operating all equipment.
• Food production experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all ingredients are mixed to the product specifications as per the daily plan.
• Ensure that all SOPs, work instructions and escalation processes for raw materials and component parts with regards to quality defects.
• Ensure all waste materials from the manufacturing processes are disposed of in the correct waste stream.
• Monitor and drive the standards for the working area to meet or exceed safety and hygiene standards.
• Complete all actions raised from the GMP, and Health and Safety audit within the agreed time.
• Responsible for own output and quality to agreed levels, producing according to specification.
• Responsible for reporting defects and potential defects in all equipment.
• Responsible for maintaining all paper records and IFS transactions as required.

Mezz Floor Operator

Heanor

Day shift - Operating between 6am and 3.30pm rotating shifts

Our Site in Heanor is the home to our Matthew Walker Christmas puddings and we have an open role for a Day Shift Mezz Operator, working Monday to Friday, rotating shifts (6-2 or 6.30-2.30 or 7-3 or 7.30-3.30)

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all the ingredients are mixed to the product specifications as per the daily plan.
• Ensure that all the standard operating procedures, work instructions and escalation processes for raw materials and component parts with regards to quality defects.
• Ensure all waste materials from the manufacturing processes are disposed of in the correct waste stream.
• Monitor and drive the standards for the working area to meet or exceed the standards of safety and hygiene.

Key Skills and Experience:

• Previous experience of Mezz floor and bulk prep positions and running and operating of all equipment
• Previous Food Production experience

Qualifications and knowledge

• Good understanding of IFS system.
• Good understanding of CCPs on Mezz.
• Good level of Numeracy (L1 equivalent)

Qualities and Experience

• Good organisational skills, prioritisation of own workload.
• Good awareness of allergens in line with HACCP risk assessment.
• Good experience of right first-time checks.
