Job summary

Valeo Foods UK is seeking a Day Shift Mezz Floor Operator for its Heanor site, handling the mezzanine floor production for Christmas puddings. The role runs Monday to Friday with rotating shifts (6:00–15:30/6:00–14:00 variations).

You will monitor batch processing, ensure SOP compliance, and uphold GMP and health and safety standards. The ideal candidate has prior mezz floor and bulk prep experience, plus food production familiarity, and a good grasp of IFS systems.

Qualifications

• Experience on mezz floor and bulk prep positions and operating equipment.
• Experience in Food Production.
• Good understanding of IFS system.
• Good understanding of CCPs on Mezz.
• Good numeracy (L1).

Responsibilities

• Ensure ingredients are mixed to product specifications per daily plan.
• Follow SOPs, work instructions and escalation processes for raw materials and components.
• Dispose of waste materials in correct waste stream.
• Maintain safety and hygiene standards in the working area.
• Complete actions from GMP and Health and Safety audits on time.
• Ensure output and quality meet agreed levels; produce to specification.
• Report defects and potential defects in equipment.
• Maintain all paper records and IFS transactions as required.
