Job summary

Gi Group is hiring Meter Readers in the Newport area. This full-time outdoor role involves collecting data from gas, electricity and water meters at commercial and residential sites. You will use a handheld device to record readings and ensure accurate updates throughout the day.

Excellent customer service is expected. Training is provided; the position offers a pension, uniform/PPE, a company car, and progression opportunities with strong earning potential.

Qualifications

• No previous experience required.
• Must have good customer service skills.
• Be physically fit and able to bend, lift, climb stairs and walk several miles daily.
• 5 years employment history.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial, and industrial meters (Water, Gas, Electricity).
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment.
• Complete readings using handheld device and input data.
• Provide good customer service at each location.
