Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd is seeking a Workshop Operative near Bishop's Stortford to join a busy engineering environment. You will work with metal components doing assembly, disassembly, cutting and general workshop duties in a hands-on setting.

The ideal candidate has metalwork or engineering experience, can use hand/power tools, measure and cut metal, and has a practical, detail-oriented approach. A UK driving licence is preferred due to the rural location.

Qualifications

• Previous workshop, metalwork, fabrication or engineering experience.
• Understanding of assembling and dismantling components.
• Experience using hand and/or power tools.
• Ability to measure, cut and prepare metal.
• Practical and hands-on approach to work.
• Good attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence due to rural site location.

Responsibilities

• Assembling and dismantling metal components and equipment.
• Cutting and preparing metal to required specifications.
• Using hand tools and power tools safely.
• Assisting with general workshop and engineering tasks.
• Measuring and checking components.
• Following drawings, instructions and specifications.
• Keeping the workshop clean, organised and safe.
• Supporting experienced engineers and fabricators with day-to-day tasks.
