Job summary

Escape is seeking a Machine Operator / Trainee Brake Press Operator for our Carnwath workshop. You will start by applying your current machine operating skills while training on CNC hydraulic press brake machinery.

As you develop, you will learn to set and operate CNC brake presses from engineering drawings, select tooling, bend and QC folded metal components, and perform basic machine checks while maintaining safe working practices in a busy fabrication environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with brake presses or press brakes is preferred, but training will be provided.
• Experience in metal fabrication/manufacturing environment is desirable.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and use measuring equipment.
• Practical, mechanically minded with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate CNC hydraulic press brake machinery.
• Work from engineering drawings and production information.
• Select appropriate tooling and bending methods.
• Produce accurate folded metal components.
• Check finished components using measuring equipment.
• Make machine adjustments to achieve the required dimensions and quality.
• Carry out basic machine checks and maintenance.
• Work safely within a busy fabrication environment.
