Job summary

Tru Talent is recruiting a skilled MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician for a leading body shop in the UK. You will repair vehicles to factory specs using modern equipment, balancing speed with quality.

The role requires an apprenticeship and relevant technical quals, with proven MET experience in a busy workshop. A strong team player who can perform geometry work and alignments is essential.

Qualifications

• Recognition of apprenticeship and a technical qualification (NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ).
• Previous experience as MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter in a busy body shop.
• Strong team player with motivation to earn bonus hours.
• Experience with geometry work and 4-wheel alignment.
• Sound knowledge of vehicle repair techniques.
• Diagnostic training.

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre.
• Follow correct repair techniques and factory specifications.
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as required.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and fix system faults.
• Perform quality checks to ensure standards are met.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed.
