Job summary

Tru Talent is seeking a skilled MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician to join a leading team in Havant. You will repair vehicles to manufacturers’ specifications in a state-of-the-art body shop, using modern equipment and techniques.

The role requires an apprenticeship with a technical qualification (NVQ/ATA/IMI/SVQ) and prior MET experience in a busy body shop. A strong team player mindset and familiarity with geometry work and 4-wheel alignment are essential, along with up-to-date repair knowledge

Qualifications

• apprenticeship recognised as MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician and gained a technical qualification (NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ).
• Previous experience as MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter in a busy body shop.

Responsibilities

• Work efficiently in a fast-paced accident repair centre.
• Follow correct repair techniques and factory specifications.
• Conduct detailed inspections to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues.
• Repair or replace damaged mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
• Disassemble and reassemble vehicle parts as required.
• Use diagnostic tools to identify and fix system faults.
• Perform quality checks to ensure work meets industry standards.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow.
• Maintain accurate records of work completed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations.

MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician

to join this leading team. You will be repairing damaged vehicles in line with manufacturers' specifications within a state-of-the-art body shop, utilising modern equipment and techniques.

Qualifications Required for an MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician

• Will have served a recognised apprenticeship as a MET Strip Fitter / MET Technician and gained a technical qualification (such as NVQ / ATA / IMI / SVQ)
• Must have previous experience working as a MET Technician / MET Strip Fitter within a busy body shop
• Strong team player with self-motivation to earn bonus hours
• Experience with Geometry work and 4-wheel alignment
• Sound up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
• Diagnostic training
