Job summary

Perfect Placement is assisting a reputable bodyshop in Basingstoke to hire an experienced MET Technician. The successful candidate will perform mechanical repairs and bodywork on allocated vehicles, with a focus on fault-finding, diagnostics, and safe road-testing.

This role offers Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week, with a competitive hourly rate up to £21 and a time-savings bonus, plus 21 days holiday and ongoing training, plus clear progression within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Previous MET Technician experience in a busy bodyshop.
• NVQ or ATA qualifications preferred, but time-served candidates will be considered.
• Strong attention to detail and quality awareness.
• Good communication and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs and bodywork on allocated vehicles.
• Conduct dismantling, fault-finding, and diagnostic work.
• Reassemble vehicles with new parts as necessary.
• Carry out inspections and testing to ensure quality standards.
• Identify faults or work required for safety and efficiency.
• Road-test vehicles safely and legally to confirm roadworthiness.
