Job summary

Perfect Placement is recruiting on behalf of a well-established accident repair bodyshop in St Albans for the position of MET Technician. You will conduct mechanical and bodywork repairs, perform diagnostics and re-assembly, and ensure vehicle safety standards are met.

The role offers an excellent hourly rate up to £24, Monday to Friday with no weekends, flexible hours, and opportunities for manufacturer training and career progression within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Proven MET Technician experience in an accident repair environment.
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostics, dismantling and re-assembly skills.
• Ability to work efficiently to high standards with great attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical and bodywork repairs on allocated vehicles.
• Perform dismantling, fault-finding, diagnostics, and re-assembly operations.
• Replace parts as necessary and carry out vehicle inspections and testing.
• Identify faults and safety concerns and ensure safety compliance.
• Carry out road tests to verify roadworthiness.

Duties of the MET Technician:

• Conduct mechanical and bodywork repairs on allocated vehicles
• Perform dismantling, fault-finding, diagnostics, and re-assembly operations
• Replace parts as necessary and carry out vehicle inspections and testing
• Identify faults and safety concerns, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
• Carry out road tests in a safe and legal manner to verify vehicle roadworthiness
• Maintain high standards of quality, attention to detail, and communication throughout all tasks

Requirements of the MET Technician:

• Proven experience as an MET Technician within a professional accident repair environment
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostics, dismantling, and re-assembly skills
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately to high standards
• Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail
• Multi-tasking capability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously
• ATA qualification or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is preferred but not essential
