Job summary

A MET Technician position is available in St Albans with Allscreens Nationwide Ltd. Join a reputable accident repair bodyshop offering quality standards and strong manufacturer approvals. The ideal candidate has MET Technician experience, strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, and an eye for detail. ATA/NVQ level 3 is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct mechanical and bodywork repairs on allocated vehicles.
• Perform dismantling, fault-finding, diagnostics and re-assembly operations.
• Replace parts as necessary and carry out vehicle inspections and testing.
• Identify faults and safety concerns, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
• Carry out road tests to verify vehicle roadworthiness.
• Maintain high standards of quality and clear communication throughout tasks.

Duties of the MET Technician:

• Conduct mechanical and bodywork repairs on allocated vehicles
• Perform dismantling, fault-finding, diagnostics, and re-assembly operations
• Replace parts as necessary and carry out vehicle inspections and testing

• Carry out road tests in a safe and legal manner to verify vehicle roadworthiness
• Maintain high standards of quality, attention to detail, and communication throughout all tasks

Requirements of the MET Technician:

• Proven experience as an MET Technician within a professional accident repair environment
• Strong fault-finding, diagnostics, dismantling, and re-assembly skills
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately to high standards
• Excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail
• Multi-tasking capability to manage multiple jobs simultaneously
• ATA qualification or NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is preferred but not essential
