Job summary

Holt Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced MET Technician / Strip Fitter in Chigwell to join a busy accident repair centre. You will carry out vehicle strip, fit and mechanical repairs, returning vehicles to pre-accident condition within a high-performing team.

You will work closely with colleagues to dismantle and rebuild components, perform suspension work, four-wheel alignment and ADAS tasks as required, with a focus on quality, safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Experience in an accident repair environment as MET/Strip Fitter or Vehicle Technician.
• ATA or NVQ qualifications advantageous but not essential.
• ADAS experience or accreditation desirable; hybrid/EV training beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Carry out removal and refitting of vehicle components to support high-quality body repairs.
• Dismantle and rebuild vehicles efficiently per repair methods and manufacturer guidelines.
• Identify and report additional damage not included in the original estimate.
• Perform mechanical repairs including suspension work, four-wheel alignment, and diagnostics.
• Complete GEO and ADAS-related tasks where required.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure repairs are completed on time and to a high standard.
• Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction throughout the repair process.

The MET Technician / Strip Fitter Role (Chigwell)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated MET Technician to join a busy, professional accident repair centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a high-performing team.

You will play a key role in the repair process, carrying out vehicle strip, fit, and mechanical repairs while ensuring every vehicle is returned to pre-accident condition.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out the removal and refitting of vehicle components to support high-quality body repairs
• Dismantle and rebuild vehicles efficiently, following repair methods and manufacturer guidelines
• Accurately identify and report any additional damage not included within the original estimate
• Perform mechanical repairs including suspension work, four-wheel alignment, and diagnostic procedures
• Complete GEO and ADAS-related tasks where required
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure repairs are completed on time and to a high standard
• Maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction throughout the repair process

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an MET Technician, Strip Fitter, or Vehicle Technician within an accident repair environment
• ATA or NVQ qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential
• Hybrid and Electric Vehicle training would be beneficial
• ADAS experience or accreditation would be highly desirable
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering first-class repairs
• Strong team player with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced workshop environment
