Job summary

Auto Skills UK is seeking an Experienced Multi-Skilled MET Technician in Hatfield to join a modern, well-equipped bodyshop. You will remove, repair and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to manufacturer standards.

Working Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:00, with no weekend work, you’ll join an experienced team and have opportunities for ongoing training, development and career progression in a supportive

Qualifications

• Proven MET Technician experience within an automotive bodyshop.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and trim repair knowledge.
• Experience with strip and fit, component removal and vehicle rebuilding.
• Ability to diagnose faults and identify repair solutions.
• Familiarity with manufacturer repair methods and safety procedures.
• Interest in ongoing training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim strip and fit work on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Remove and refit vehicle components including bumpers, lights, panels and interior trim.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults from accident damage.
• Complete accurate dismantling and rebuilding of vehicles.
• Collaborate with Panel, Paint, Estimator and Workshop teams.
• Follow manufacturer repair methods and safety standards.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and specialist tools where required.
• Complete repairs within production times while maintaining quality.

THE ROLE

As an Experienced Multi-Skilled MET Technician, you will be responsible for the removal, repair, replacement and refitting of mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles.

Working as part of an experienced bodyshop team, you will play a key role in ensuring vehicles are correctly stripped, repaired and rebuilt to manufacturer and industry standards, while maintaining excellent quality and efficiency throughout the repair process.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim strip and fit work on accident-damaged vehicles
• Remove and refit vehicle components including bumpers, lights, panels, airbags, interior trim and associated systems
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults resulting from accident damage
• Complete accurate and efficient vehicle dismantling and rebuilding
• Work closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, Estimators and Workshop Controllers
• Follow manufacturer repair methods and ensure all work meets required safety and quality standards
• Use appropriate diagnostic equipment and specialist tools where required
• Complete repairs within agreed production times while maintaining exceptional workmanship

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced and highly skilled Multi-Skilled MET Technician with strong technical knowledge and a passion for delivering quality accident repairs.

• Proven experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair bodyshop
• Strong mechanical, electrical and trim repair knowledge
• Experience with strip and fit, component removal and vehicle rebuilding
• Confident working on modern vehicles and associated electrical systems
• Ability to diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair solutions
• Good understanding of manufacturer repair methods and safety procedures
• IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Able to work efficiently within a busy production environment
• Reliable, conscientious and professionally minded
• Strong team player with a positive and proactive approach
• Full UK Driving Licence preferred
