Job summary

Auto Skills UK is looking for an experienced MET Technician / Strip Fitter to join a modern accident repair centre in Tewkesbury. You will dismantle, repair and reassemble accident-damaged vehicles to manufacturer specifications, working alongside skilled colleagues to ensure safety and quality workmanship.

The role offers a 40-hour week, flexible hours, a competitive basic salary of £35,000–£45,000 with a realistic £45,000 OTE, and ongoing training in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as MET Technician, Strip Fitter or Bodyshop Technician in a busy accident repair centre.
• Recognised apprenticeship with NVQ, VCQ, SVQ, ATA or equivalent qualification.
• Excellent knowledge of modern vehicle repair techniques.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• High attention to detail with pride in producing quality workmanship.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude and excellent team-working skills.
• Ability to work efficiently while maintaining exceptional standards.

Responsibilities

• Strip and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles.
• Carry out repairs using manufacturer-approved repair methods and the latest equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults where required.

The Role

As an MET Technician / Strip Fitter, you'll be responsible for dismantling, repairing and reassembling accident-damaged vehicles to manufacturer specifications. Working alongside experienced Panel Beaters and Paint Sprayers, you'll ensure every repair is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest possible standard.
