Job summary

TALA is seeking a capable Buying and Allocation Assistant to join our product team in London. You’ll work across Apparel and Non-Apparel, reporting to the Junior Buyer and collaborating with Design, Garment Technology, Merchandising and Marketing.

You’ll manage data, allocate SKUs, raise POs, monitor stock across Carnaby and White City stores, support store openings, and help with trade reporting and website updates. A startup pace, strong organisation and Shopify experience are key.

Qualifications

• Be super organised, able to prioritise and use initiative.
• Numerical with excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Have an analytical and commercially driven mindset.
• Be comfortable working with large data sets and navigating Excel confidently.
• Be comfortable working in a startup environment — hands-on and collaborative.
• Experience working with Shopify would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date product and stock data across all systems and master records, ensuring information stays aligned.
• Allocate SKUs and barcodes and update the accounting system.
• Raise Purchase Orders in line with the range plan and sizing documents.
• Input and maintain orders in the delivery schedule, flagging any date changes promptly.
• Track shipments and intake into the business, flagging delays or risks.
• Manage stock allocation to London stores in line with sales performance and space.
• Process store-to-store and store-to-warehouse transfers with accurate records.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish core and best-selling lines to minimise stockouts.
• Trade stock reactively to chase sell-through opportunities and inform buyers.
• Work with retail teams to understand in-store sell-through and feed into allocations.
• Support store openings and end-of-season markdown transfers.
• Produce trade reports and identify opportunities with Merchandiser.
• Update line cards and the delivery schedule weekly.
