Job summary

Kier Group is seeking an Industrial Placement MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the Kier Mechanical & Electrical team around the Basingstoke region. Location: Basingstoke, 40 hours per week, salary £27,976 pro rata, start September 2027.

This placement year offers hands-on experience, mentorship from experienced professionals, and exposure to budgeting, cost planning, tendering and reporting within complex MEP projects across multiple sectors.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Demonstrates numerical confidence and ability to use data to support decisions.
• Works effectively in a team and shows reliability and respect for others.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans and cost estimates.
• Support measurement and interim valuation of on-site works for timely billing.
• Help prepare and submit tenders and contract documents.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure safety and specifications are met.
• Collaborate with the project team to prepare progress reports and financial statements.
