Job summary

Kier Group invites an Industrial Placement MEP Quantity Surveyor to join the Kier Mechanical & Electrical team around the Leeds region. This placement year offers hands-on experience in managing contractual and financial aspects of MEP projects under mentorship.

You will assist with budgets, cost plans, interim valuations, tender submissions, and site inspections while contributing to project reporting across sectors including Custodial, Commercial, Health & Science.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Quantity Surveying.
• Genuine interest in pursuing a career in quantity surveying and construction.
• Numerical confidence with data to support decision-making.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in preparing and managing project budgets, cost plans, and cost estimates.
• Supporting the measurement and interim valuation of work done on-site, ensuring timely and accurate billing.
• Helping prepare and submit tenders and contract documents.
• Conducting site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure work is carried out safely and to specifications.
• Collaborating with the project team to prepare progress reports and financial statements.
