Brookfield M&E Ltd. is seeking an MEP Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Commercial Manager in commercial and cost management of multiple MEP subcontract projects in Romford.

The role offers exposure to procurement, cost control, valuations, and commercial administration within an MEP contracting environment. The ideal candidate will have 1 year of construction or M&E contracting experience, strong numerical skills, and good Excel knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in construction or M&E contracting (desirable).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in procurement and commercial evaluation of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
  • Support the preparation of subcontract documentation and attend Part 2 meetings.
  • Assist in preparation of Bills of Quantities, schedules and tender comparisons.
  • Assist with measurement and take-off of M&E services from drawings and specs.
  • Support CVRs and cost value reconciliations.
  • Assist in the assessment and payments to subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Liaise with site teams and attend design, procurement, commercial, and site meetings.
  • Maintain commercial records and draft commercial correspondence.

Job description

We are currenlty looking for a MEP Quantity Surveyor for a M&E sub Contractor based in Romford, We are looking for the MEP Quantity Surveyor to support the Senior Commercial Manager in the effective commercial and cost management of multiple Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) subcontract projects. The role provides structured, hands‑on experience in procurement, cost control, valuations, and commercial administration within an MEP contracting environment, supporting the development of core quantity surveying and commercial management skills.

MEP Quantity Surveyor Duties
  • Comply with and actively promote the Company's Health & Safety policies at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with all company procedures, systems, and protocols.
  • Assist in the procurement and commercial evaluation of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, including supply-only and labour-only packages.
  • Support the preparation of subcontract documentation and attend Part 2 meetings where appropriate.
  • Assist in preparation of Bills of Quantities, schedules, and tender comparison documents
  • Assist with the measurement and take-off of M&E services in accordance with drawings and specifications.
  • Support measurement activities for interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
  • Support the identification, recording, and commercial assessment of changes for both subcontractors and clients.
  • Assist in the assessment and evaluation of payments to Sub-Contractors, Consultants, and Suppliers.
  • Support the preparation and coordination of labour-only payments.
  • Subject to prior approval and in accordance with company procedures, assist with the authorisation of interim payments to Sub-Contractors and Consultants.
  • Assist in drafting commercial correspondence for review and issue by the Senior Commercial Manager.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial records in line with company procedures
  • Liaise and integrate with site teams to support effective project delivery.
  • Attend design, procurement, commercial, and site meetings as required.
  • Take accurate meeting minutes when appropriate.
  • Support general commercial administration across multiple projects.
The ideal canaidate will have
  • Minimum 1 year experience in construction or M&E contracting (desirable)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well within a team
  • Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Basic understanding of M&E installations (mechanical/ electrical)
  • Willingness to learn and develop within an M&E commercial environment
Hours/ Package
  • Office-based with regular site visits
  • Full-time, Monday to Thursday 8am -5pm Friday 8am - 4:30pm
  • £55k - £65k + Package
