Job summary

Responsibilities

• Assist in procurement and commercial evaluation of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
• Assist in preparation of Bills of Quantities, schedules, and tender comparison documents.
• Assist with measurement and take-off of M&E services from drawings and specifications.
• Support interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Assist in preparation and maintenance of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Assist in drafting interim payments to Sub‑Contractors and Consultants.
• Liaise with site teams and attend design, procurement, commercial and site meetings.
• Take accurate meeting minutes and support general commercial administration across projects.

Job description

AA Euro Group are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor (M&E), to join our clients commercial team, working on major building and infrastructure projects across London. This is a full time permanent position where you will be required to split your time between the office (East London) and site (Canary Wharf).

Job Purpose

To support the Senior Commercial Manager in the effective commercial and cost management of multiple Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health (MEP) subcontract projects. The role provides structured, hands‑on experience in procurement, cost control, valuations, and commercial administration within an MEP contracting environment, supporting the development of core quantity surveying and commercial management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Comply with and actively promote the Company's Health & Safety policies at all times.
• Ensure compliance with all company procedures, systems, and protocols.

Procurement & Tendering

• Assist in the procurement and commercial evaluation of subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants, including supply‑only and labour‑only packages.
• Support the preparation of subcontract documentation and attend Part 2 meetings where appropriate.
• Assist in preparation of Bills of Quantities, schedules, and tender comparison documents.

Measurement & Cost Control

• Assist with the measurement and take‑off of M&E services in accordance with drawings and specifications.
• Support measurement activities for interim valuations, variations, and final accounts.
• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs).
• Support the identification, recording, and commercial assessment of changes for both subcontractors and clients.

Payments & Commercial Administration

• Assist in the assessment and evaluation of payments to Sub‑Contractors, Consultants, and Suppliers.
• Support the preparation and coordination of labour‑only payments.
• Subject to prior approval and in accordance with company procedures, assist with the authorisation of interim payments to Sub‑Contractors and Consultants.
• Assist in drafting commercial correspondence for review and issue by the Senior Commercial Manager.
• Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date commercial records in line with company procedures.

Project & Team Support

• Liaise and integrate with site teams to support effective project delivery.
• Attend design, procurement, commercial, and site meetings as required.
• Take accurate meeting minutes when appropriate.
• Support general commercial administration across multiple projects.

Working Conditions

• Office‑based with regular site visits
• Full‑time, Monday to Thursday 8am -5pm Friday 8am - 4:30pm
• May involve working to tight deadlines during project handover or tender periods; flexibility to work additional hours, including overtime, will be required as necessary.
